OCYS Winter Concert 2010 : What a terrific concert. All the members of the orchestra performed so well. It was very, very impressive and it was obvious how hard everyone worked and practiced.

The parents and the performers should be very proud.

Just a quick reminder. When you click the "BUY" button, there are many choices available. Prints from wallet size to poster size can ordered. There are other items as well, such as mugs, t-shirts, kitchen magnets and more. Please take a moment to click each tab to see all of the print and merchandise options. Thanks.

Please note: If it's prints you want, the difference in the quality of the prints from this lab, "Bay Photo" and what you would get if you downloaded the image and had it printed at Walmart, Rite Aid or on your home printer is like night and day. The printers, inks and paper used by Bay Photo are far superior and much more permanent and vibrant. The metallic paper is really nice. :-)

Downloaded photos are great for emailing to friends and family or for placement on a website, Facebook or MySpace.

It was a pleasure to photograph you all and I feel lucky to have seen your performance. BRAVO!

Peter

Neil Alexander and NAIL Performs A 400 Year Musical Journey : A 400 Year Musical Journey was a most unusual concert. Neil Alexander outdid himself when he put together this thoughtful and well worked out series of arrangements. Hats off to the incredible musicians who performed so well.
Neal Alexander - Keys, Dan Asher - Bass, Nadav Snir Zelniker - Drums, Zach Brock - Violin, Premik Russell Tubbs - Saxes, Flute and Wind Synth and special guest Tele-Vision - Vocals.

Neil was honored this day with both an unveiling of a portrait in his likeness as well as the presentation of a Golden Nail. I also has the pleasure of running a live webcast and moderating the chat window with all of the online viewers. Pretty cool stuff.

Your kind support of my photographic efforts is appreciated. And thanks also for supporting live music in your area. If you see a shot you like, please consider purchasing it (downloads are inexpensive and prints come out great!) and if you see a shot someone else might like, hit the SHARE button and tell them. I am going to begin the process of removing older galleries from the Music category, so pass the word to other musicians to get their images soon.

Erik Lawrence's Tuesday Night Jazz and Friends : This was an interesting evening. Unbelievable music provided by Erik Lawrence on saxes and flute, Cameron Brown on bass and Ben Perowsky on drums. Performed to a room full of fantastic musicians and even though this was not technically a jam night, a number of outstanding jazz cats got to sit in. Overall, it was a night to remember and I'm glad to have been there for it.

Note to all of my wonderful visitors: After clicking on a thumbnail, the image can then be viewed in medium, large and extra large. Prints, downloads and merchandise like t-shirts, mugs etc., can be purchased by simply clicking the "BUY" button above the image on the right. Also, if you want prints, the prints from this website are of the highest quality and there is a large variety to choose from.. Much better than purchasing a download to take to a local lab or to print at home. The download images are great for Facebook, MySpace, personal websites and emailing to friends and family.

Neil Alexander & Nail at the Waterfront Festval 9/6/09 : I'm running out things to say about this band and that's no lie! Neil Alexander & NAIL is one hot, progressive 3 piece band. You must see them if you can. And if you can't make it to the gig, they are working on having a live video stream at every show that is at a venue with a fast internet connection. So keep on the lookout for that.

Christine Dominguez at Waterfront Festival 9/6/09 : I was at the Newburgh Waterfront Festival to watch and photograph a friend's band (They're in another Gallery). West Point Outdoor Concert Season Finale 9/5/09 : The Summer outdoor concert series went out with a big bang. The West Point Hellcats Bugle & Drum Corps, The Jazz Knights and The Concert Band all performed. Of course the 1812 Overture was performed to begin a spectacular fireworks display during an absolutely perfect evening, overlooking one of the nicest views of the Hudson River Valley.

Chris Pasin's CD Release Party at The Old Fashion 9/1/09 : There's not enough space here to describe the music that was played tonight. But I'll say this much... These excellent musicians played as if they were reading each others minds. It didn't seem to ever matter who took a tune in a new direction or when it happened. Everyone else reacted to the change instantly off they went. I mean, I get it how it's done, but wow, this was just over the top. And I have to mention that The Old Fashioned is doing the right stuff to become a major venue for live music in a great town that already hosts lots of live music.

Chris's CD has an interesting story behind it (way behind it) but you'll have to get it to find out more. I think CD Baby is where you can find it.

The Mahavishnu Project at Peekskill Jazz Fest 8/8/09 : The City of Peekskill had a rare opportunity to see a performance of John McLaughlin's Jazz/Fusion compositions by The Mahavishnu Project. It was a great night and hundreds of people filled the streets of Peekskill to see this unusual form of jazz as preserved for our enjoyment by a group of extremely talented and dedicated musicians. I saw smiles throughout the audience as this music, in spite of it's intensity, is very much a spiritual experience, as was originally intended.

Bill Pernice Quartet at NV Lounge in Suffern : Wayne Cobham brought us a great jazz quartet at The NV Lounge on Wednesday 5/13/09. Bill Pernice on keys, Rob Scheps on Sax and Flute, James Cammack on bass, Scott Drewes on drums, Chris Pasin on Trumpet and Christopher Harrison - Vocals. Yes, that's more than a quartet... there were some guests sitting in!
Another outstanding night of great jazz and it's right in downtown Suffern, NY and it's free and the food is fantastic!

Your kind support of my photographic efforts is appreciated. Please, if you see a shot you like, buy it (downloads are inexpensive and prints come out great!) and if you see a shot someone else might like, hit the share button and tell them. Thanks --- Peter
